In a statement released by his Special Assistant (SA) on Media, Mr. Kehinde Aderemi, Iba Adams expressed joy over the peaceful restoration of the throne, emphasizing that the new development would put an end to the controversies surrounding the Alaafin’s appointment. He also commended the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Oyo-Mesi, and the people of Oyo for their efforts in reinstating the glory of the ancient city.

Adams reaffirmed that Oyo town remains a pride of the Yoruba race, and whoever occupies the throne is a blessing to both the traditional institution and the wider Yoruba community. Reflecting on the late Oba Adeyemi’s legacy, Adams noted the immense cultural impact and wisdom left behind, while also signaling the dawn of a new chapter of hope for Oyo.

In his message to the new Alaafin-designate, Adams urged Prince Owoade to mend relationships with the aggrieved Oyo Mesi and work towards uniting the people for the betterment of Oyo town. He expressed confidence that with the new Alaafin’s qualities, including his education, humility, exposure, and experience, Oyo would witness significant growth and restoration of its former glory.
