Flood: Operatives on trail of Rev. King, other escaped inmates from Maiduguri correctional centre
The prison authorities have ordered manhunt for Rev King and scores of escaped inmates due to massive flooding in Maiduguri correctional centre in Borno State capital.
The prison break, which occurred due to severe flooding in Maiduguri, on Tuesday, has seen prime convict, Rev King, and a number of unconfirmed prisoners escaping from the correctional centre.
The flood, is now receding has caused extensive damage to the prison and other facilities in the city.
The prison authorities, who confirmed that the prison break, warned that the escaped inmates are highly dangerous, as they may be armed.
Amongst those suspected missing is the Lagos cleric, Rev. King who has been awaiting execution in Maiduguri Correctional Center for about 15 years.
The incident has heightened insecurity in the state, especially because of the activities of terrorists, bandits and other criminal elements.
However, prison authorities said they are on the trail of the escaped inmates, with law enforcement agencies mobilising additional resources.
