FG Declares May 1 Public Holiday for Workers’ Day

The Federal Government has declared that Thursday, May 1, will be a public holiday in celebration of Workers’ Day. 

Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo disclosed this on Tuesday, April 29, in Abuja, emphasizing the critical role of peace in driving industrialization and economic growth. 

In a statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, the minister praised workers for their dedication and contributions to national development.

He underscored the value of labor, urging workers to embrace innovation and enhance productivity in their fields. 

Tunji-Ojo also called on workers to uphold high standards to promote good governance and fair distribution of national resources.

He reassured citizens of President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to safety and security nationwide. 

The minister extended warm wishes to workers for a joyful celebration and encouraged Nigerians to remain optimistic, affirming the government’s dedication to achieving its Renewed Hope Agenda.
