FG convenes National Economic Council conference for growth alignment

The Federal Government will convene a National Economic Council (NEC) Conference on Monday, today, to strengthen national economic coordination and accelerate inclusive growth across all 36 states.

The conference will be chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima, with state governors and key national stakeholders in attendance.

It aims to generate a unified policy direction for the states, aligning them with the federal government’s agenda.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.

Convened by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the conference carries the theme “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan.”

The two-day summit, presided over by Vice President Shettima, will focus on pressing macroeconomic priorities, including fiscal coordination, investment mobilization, and shared development strategies between federal and state governments.

According to the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Deborah Oko Odo, the gathering is expected to produce a far-reaching policy direction to encourage nationwide economic growth.
