FG appoints Adeyemi as new Federal Fire Service Controller-General

The Federal Government has appointed Olumode Adeyemi as the new Comptroller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS).

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board appointedAdeyemi as the new substantive Controller-General of the FFS effective August 14, 2025.

A statement on Wednesday, follows the retirement of the outgoing Controller-General, Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who will step down on August 1, 2025, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.

The Board commended Olola for his dedicated service and contributions to the Federal Fire Service, wishing him well in his retirement.

Adeyemi, previously the Deputy Controller-General of Fire in charge of Human Resources at the FFS Headquarters, boasts of an extensive career spanning the FCT Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service.

The Board highlighted his distinguished track record, noting his participation in key in-service trainings, command courses, and professional programs both within and outside Nigeria.

Adeyemi is also a member and fellow of several prestigious professional bodies, including Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

His appointment is expected to bring continuity and strategic leadership to the Federal Fire Service as it continues to enhance its emergency response capabilities nationwide.
