Fayose Vows to Win Ekiti Governorship Election, Dismisses Brother’s Support for APC
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and governorship aspirant, Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, has reaffirmed his determination to secure the party’s ticket and win the upcoming election in Ekiti State.
In a statement by his media office, Fayose emphasized that his motivation for contesting is to steer the state towards growth and development.
“I am in the race to dislodge the Oyebanji-led government, and if I win, I will run an inclusive government that will steer Ekiti in the right direction,” he said.
Fayose further addressed recent speculation surrounding his ambition, particularly following a meeting between his elder brother, former Governor Ayodele Fayose, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In that meeting, the former governor expressed support for the APC candidate, Governor Oyebanji, in the upcoming election.
Reacting to this, Otunba Fayose stated that the meeting would not influence his aspirations. “The meeting has nothing to do with my ambition,” he clarified. “My brother, as my elder, is simply exercising his democratic right, and his choices will not affect my bid as we are pursuing different goals.”
