Family moved Zack Orji against medical advice – National Hospital
Ailing famous Nigerian actor, Zack Orji, is said to have been moved from the National Hospital, Abuja, to a private hospital also in Abuja by his family.
The management of the National Hospital in Abuja dismissed reports that it referred Orji to a private hospital.
It explained that the family of the actor signed an undertaking to take him away even as he was being prepared for surgery after he had stabilised.
This was contained in a statement by the National Hospital’s spokesperson, Dr. Tayo Haastrup, on behalf of the Chief Medical Director.
The statement explained that the actor, who was brought in on New Year’s Eve and admitted to the intensive care unit, was stabilised by the hospital and moved to the ENT ward.
It added that, “Later in the day, he was transferred to the orthopaedic ward, where our surgeons began preparing him for surgery.
“However, the relatives of the patient signed a form ‘Leaving Against Medical Advice’ on January 1, 2024, which thwarted all preparations for his surgery.”
However, the management of National Hospital in Abuja wished Zack Orji a speedy recovery.
