Ex-APC Chairman Ganduje returns to Nigeria, set for key political talks in Kano

Former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman and ex-Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has returned to Nigeria after a vacation in Dubai and will begin broad political consultations focused on Kano State.

Ganduje arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, in Lagos, Saturday evening via Emirates Airlines and later travelled to Abuja.

Upon his return, he is expected to meet with party leaders, stakeholders, and other influential figures to assess the current political situation in Kano.

In a statement issued by his Chief of Staff, Muhammad Garba, Ganduje said the engagements aim to promote inclusive dialogue and enhance party unity amid recent developments.

He will also take part in the APC’s nationwide electronic membership registration—a initiative he launched as national chairman to modernize the party’s records.

The statement emphasized Ganduje’s commitment to strengthening the APC and supporting democratic cohesion, especially in Kano.

His return comes amid increased political activity in the state, including speculation that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf may defect from the NNPP to the APC.

Ganduje, who served as Kano governor from 2015 to 2023, remains a influential figure in the state’s politics.
