Manchester United’s new signing, Mason Mount, is said to be what the squad needs to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.

Man United have strengthened manager Erik ten Hag’s squad this summer, bringing in midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea and goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan.

But Ten Hag still wants Man United to sign a new striker this summer.

However, Arsenal legend, Paul Merson, believes Man United will become Premier League title challengers next season if they sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.

Man United have been linked with Kane, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund.

In a tweet via his Twitter handle on Thursday, Merson wrote: “Man Utd need to get Kane… Get Kane [and they] will challenge for the Premier League. Don’t get Kane [and they are] fighting for a top-four spot.”
