EPL: Klopp says Chelsea owner gives manager tough job

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has slammed Chelsea owners for giving managers at the club an impossible job to do.

The German coach believes that Chelsea have more players than one manager can handle.

The Liverpool boss also said Chelsea’s downfall this season makes him ‘a little happy’.

He said the Blues’ predicament would prove to the owners that results cannot be guaranteed just by signing top players.

Since Roman Abramovich was forced out of the club, the owners, led by Todd Boehly, have spent over £600 million on 17 players in two transfer windows.

The huge spendings have been accompanied by poor results and the sacking of two managers, Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter.

“I feel a little bit for Chelsea, to be honest, because it’s not going well, I think they’re a top, top team, but on the other side, it’s good to see that you cannot just bring top players together and think it works out.

“You have to build a team and that’s what the guys there underestimated and gave their coaches a nearly impossible job to do.”
