EPL: Gundogan’s agent seeks new contract, amid interest from Arsenal, Barcelona
Ilhan Gundogan, the agent of Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan, is lookong for another contract for the player.
He has shut down claims the player whose contract ends this summer has agreed to remain with the Premier League champions
Gundogan has been linked with Arsenal and Barcelona and his agent would be free to speak to foreign clubs from January 2024.
But recent reports claim Gundogan’s starring role for City in their quest for the treble has prompted a rethink.
The Etihad club was initially only offering the German a one-year extension, but the club has now upped their offer to a two-year deal.
Gundogan was expected to accept City’s improved proposal, but now Ilhan has said: “Nothing has been agreed with City or any other club.
“The recent reports are not true. Ilkay is only focused on the [Champions League] final.”
