Embattled Betta Edu at EFCC after her suspension as minister
Embattled Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Minister, Dr. Betta Edu, was at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Headquarters in Abuja to.honour her invitation by the amti-graft agency to answer questions regarding her role in the alleged N585.2 million fraud in her ministry.
Edu was suspended on Monday by President Bola Tinubu after it was disclosed that the N585.2 million was transferred into a private account in contrivance of Federal Government rule.
The N585 million was said to be meant for payment of grants to vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Cross River and Ogun states.
Edu is the first minister to be suspended from office in the new cabinet since they were sworn in in August last year.
