EFCC arrests ex-Gov Ishaku over alleged N27bn fraud

Former governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over over alleged N27bn fraud.

Ishaku, who left the as governor of the state in 2023 after his two-term of e8ght years, was picked up at his Abuja residence in the early hours of Friday.

The former governor was said to be in the EFCC’s custody late as when filing this report on Friday.

At least 15 count charges are said to have been proferred against Ishaku, who the anti-graft would arraign in court soon.

The spokesman of the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, was said to have confirmed the development in a report, althoughhe declined further comment.

Ishaku’s arrest is coming on the heels of ongoing face-off between the commission and the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.
