DSS nabs doctor linked to Kwara kidnappers
A medical doctor has been arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) for allegedly transporting drugs to kidnappers operating in Kwara State.
According to security sources, the doctor was intercepted in the Jebba area of Moro Local Government based on intelligence about the kidnappers’ logistics network.
The DSS indicates that the criminal gangs are urgently seeking medical supplies, as many have sustained gunshot wounds during recent clashes with security forces.
This arrest follows intensified military operations in Kwara aimed at driving out bandits who have crossed from neighboring states. In light of the incident, a security official has advised that health facilities in remote, forested areas strengthen their security measures, as they may become targets for kidnappers seeking treatment.
