Davido, Chioma Return, Share Emotional Tribute to Late Son in Heartfelt Instagram Exchange

Nigerian music star Davido and his wife, Chioma Adeleke, moved fans with a poignant exchange on Instagram following her return to social media after a lengthy hiatus.

Chioma had stepped back from public platforms after the tragic loss of their son, Ifeanyi, in 2022.

Marking her return on Thursday, she shared wedding photos from their recent ceremony in Miami, Florida, along with a touching tribute to their late son.

In her post, she referred to Ifeanyi as her “best friend” who was with her in spirit, writing: “My best friend walked with me into forever. Ify, you are on my mind and you live in my heart, always and forever. Love, Mummy.”

The post included an image of her wedding bracelet engraved with Ifeanyi’s picture.

Davido responded tenderly to the tribute with the comment, “Till Infinity.”

The emotional interaction resonated deeply with followers, many of whom flooded the comments with messages of support and sympathy for the couple’s continued healing.

Media personality Shade Ladipo was among those who reacted, acknowledging the couple’s admirable bond while also emphasizing the importance of prayer and commitment in marriage.

She noted that while Davido’s sincerity is clear, maintaining loyalty requires ongoing effort and discipline.

Ifeanyi Adeleke tragically passed away in October 2022 due to a drowning accident at Davido’s residence in Lagos.

Chioma’s recent post marks a significant and emotional return to social media after nearly two years of privacy.

He has been part of many start-ups, such as The Republic (1987), The Comet (1999), The Anchor 2001 – 2002; Sun Newspapers (2003); Westerner newsmagazine (2005 – 2010) as Editor; National Life (2011) as Sunday Editor, and Newswatch Newspapers (2012- 2016) as Daily Editor.

Dele Fashomi is now the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Newstide247.com newspaper online, which he started in July 2015. He is also into biography writing, with many books in his trail, some of which he wrote alone and one he co- authored with his mentor, Mr Dare Babarinsa, entitled:  Olabiyi Durojaiye – DARE TO BE DiFFERENT. He also guided and collaborated with Pa Olatunji Odusanya in writing his autobiography – AGAINST ALL ODDS. There are many other books in the works under his pen.
