Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced another reduction in its ex-depot petrol price, lowering it from ₦828 to ₦699 per litre effective December 11, 2025.
This ₦129 reduction—a 15.58% drop—marks the refinery’s 20th price adjustment this year.
The move follows recent comments from Chairman Aliko Dangote, who reaffirmed on December 6 that the refinery would keep domestic fuel prices “reasonable and competitive.”
He emphasized that prices are expected to fall further as production increases, helping the refinery compete with imported fuel.
Dangote also addressed ongoing smuggling challenges, noting that although illicit trade has declined, price differences with neighboring countries—where fuel is about 55% more expensive—continue to incentivize cross-border smuggling.
“Petroleum products, including diesel and petrol, will continue to be sold at very reasonable prices,” Dangote stated, adding that the refinery is focused on long-term growth rather than short-term profit recovery from its $20 billion investment.
The price cut has influenced other private depots, with several also reducing their rates.
According to data from Petroleumprice.ng, Sigmund Depot lowered its price by ₦4 to ₦824 per litre, Bulk Strategic by ₦3, and TechnoOil by ₦15.
Other depots such as A.A. Rano, NIPCO, and Aiteo also made slight adjustments, reflecting broader market alignment with Dangote’s pricing strategy.
