Dangote Refinery begins nationwide sales of fuel at ₦739/litre, vows to stabilize holiday supply
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced nationwide sales of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at a fixed pump price of ₦739 per litre through all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc stations.
This move aims to deliver more affordable fuel and bring stability to the downstream petroleum sector.
With over 2,000 MRS stations across the country set to implement the new price, consumers nationwide are expected to benefit from the reduction.
The refinery publicly commended marketers who have already adopted the pricing and urged others to follow suit in support of national economic recovery.
This intervention arrives during a period—the festive season—historically marked by fuel shortages and price surges.
Dangote Refinery guarantees a steady daily supply of 50 million litres, aiming to transform fuel accessibility during the holidays.
By refining products domestically at scale, the facility is designed to reduce Nigeria’s vulnerability to volatile global markets, conserve foreign exchange, support the Naira, and enhance national energy security.
The price drop and reliable supply offer significant relief to households, businesses, and transport operators.
The refinery issued a strong warning against any attempts by unscrupulous operators to create artificial shortages following the price reduction.
It called on regulatory agencies to remain vigilant and take decisive action against such practices, especially during the festive period.
Consumers were advised to reject inflated prices and report any MRS station selling above ₦739 per litre to a dedicated hotline. The refinery also encouraged other petrol station operators to source its products so that the benefits of lower prices can reach Nigerians through all outlets.
Reiterating its long-term commitment, Dangote Petroleum Refinery emphasized that its operations are focused on ensuring consistent supply, moderating prices, and strengthening Nigeria’s energy security for the national interest, beyond short-term market fluctuations.
