Dangote, Bill Gates invited to NEC meeting chaired by VP

Chairman of Dangote Foundation, Aliko Dangote, and co-founder of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Bill Gates, were invited to attend the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting chaired by Vice-President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.

The NEC, the constitutional economic advisory body to the Federal Government, is chaired by the Vice-President and comprises State Governors, Central Bank Governor, Finance Minister and Attorney-General of the Federation.

Present at Wednesday’s meeting as usual were Governors Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa State), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Lawan Dauda (Zamfara State), among others.

Also in the closed door meeting were deputy governors representing their principals, some Ministers as well as some states commissioners.

However, Dangote and Gates were the unusual guests at the NEC.
