The National Industrial Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, has ordered the Shooting Stars football club to pay Akinloye Adedotun, former head coach of Shooting Stars feeders team, N3,013,845 compensation.

The court ordered the management of the club to pay Adedotun the amount for wrongfully terminating his appointment.

Adedotun through his counsel, Tolulope Olatunji, argued that his salary was stopped without any prior notice.

However, the case was not defended by the defendant, after which Justice John Peters ordered the payment of the sum, being the claimant’s salary from November 2015 to February 2021.

Peters declared the stoppage of the salary without prior notice as illegal and against the rule of natural justice and rules of engagement.
