Christ Embassy Headquarters fire, opportunity to rebuild more modern church, Pastor Oyakhilome assures congregants

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the president and founder of LoveWorld Incorporated, populary known as Christ Embassy, has reacted to the recent fire incident at the church’s headquarters in Lagos.
Pastor Oyakhilome spoke during a live Sunday service at the church’s campground in Asese, saying the fire incident has provided an opportunity for the church to build a more modern church in the place.
He told the congregation that the fire was not a setback, but an opportunity for growth and improvement.
On Sunday morning, June 23, 2024, social media was abuzz with videos showing the Christ Embassy building in Oregun, Ikeja, engulfed in flames.
The incident sparked widespread concern among followers and the general public.
However, Pastor Chris reacting, stated:
“Nothing happens in the life of a child of God by accident. During the 2001 Ikeja cantonment bombing incident, the building vibrated so much and we thought it was going to collapse. I thought to myself that if it collapsed, I was going to build a bigger, better one. At the end of the day, it didn’t collapse and we called the engineers to see if there was any need to bring it down and rebuild, but it was still okay. Now that this has happened, we will build a bigger, better, and more glorious one and the devil will lick his wound.”
The maverick pastor stressed that such challenges are opportunities for divine intervention and improvement.
His message was one of resilience and faith, encouraging his followers to look forward to a more magnificent edifice in the future.
But the Lagos State Fire Service, whose operatives reacted on time to curtail the fire, worked diligently to control the blaze.
Indeed, eyewitnesses said their swift action ensured that the situation was brought under control without further escalation.
Investigations are ongoing to unravel the cause of the fire.
Despite the disruption, howevrr, Pastor Chris’ message resonated with many, reinforcing the community’s resolve and optimism.
But the incident remains an unfortunate one in Christ Embassy. The rebuilding of the church would how the church turns its adversity into triumph and also the commitment to rebuilding and improving the church’s infrastructure would tell the story of their faith and determination.
