Bullying Ogun monarch arraigned, released on bail

The detained Ogun State monarch, Oba Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi of Olorile of Orile Ifo, on Tuesday, got bail.
The monarch was arraigned in court for assaulting an elderly man, Oloye Areola Abraham, in a video that was heavily condemned after it went viral on social media.
A statement by Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, stated that the case has been adjourned until March 3, 2025.
According to Adejobi, “The Kabiyesi Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi, who assaulted one elderly man in a viral video, in Ifo Ogun State has been charged to court today February4, 2025, on three-count charge of conspiracy, assault and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
“He was granted bail while the case was adjourned to 06/03/2025. The police will continue to uphold the rule of law and the core values of the noble profession.’’
The traditional ruler had claimed to be in control of the police, in a viral video, assaulting, raining curses and threatening to kill or jail the elderly man who was heard saying he was unwell.
However, the Ogun State Government had suspended him for six months for “uncivil conduct.’’
