Breaking: Ex-minister Diezani Alison-Madueke charged in UK court for corruption

Nigeria’s former Petroleum Resources Minister and ex-President of the OPEC, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, has been charged in the United Kingdom court today, October 2, 2023.

Alison-Madueke, charged in a London Westminster magistrates court, faces six charges, including corruption and money laundering while in office as Petroleum Resources Minister.

She was also accused of collecting bribes, including gift of a plane.

The former minister, who is standing trial with two others, would be released to bail upon payment of the bail bond. She was yet to fulfil the bail bond.
