Breaking: Court of Appeal reaffirms Amaewhule as Rivers Assembly Speaker
The Court of Appeal, in Abuja, has affirmed that Martins Amaehwule is the authentic Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The Court of Appeal judgment reaffirmed the judgement of the Federal High Court, that Amaehwule remains the authentic Speaker of the state House of Assembly.
The judgemen is seen as a victory for the camp of former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, who has been at loggerheads with Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Governor Fubara had challenged the judgement of Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court Abuja, which affirmed Amaehwule’s leadership.
Governor Fubara has also been ordered to re-present the 2024 budget to the Amaehwule-led House of Assembly after it was said to have been illegally presented to a four-man House of Assembly earlier.
The court also barred him from interfering with House of Assembly affairs
