Bishops David Abioye, Thomas Aremu retire from Bishop Oyedepo’s Winners’ Chapel

Two long-time serving bishops of the Living Faith Ministries aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Abioye and Bishop Thomas Aremu, are stepping down from the services of the church.
Two bishops, who are Vice Presidents of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, will formally exit from service of the church this October 2024.
Bishops Abioye and Aremu, who take their final exist from Abuja and Ibadan respectively, are retiring in line with the operational guidelines of the Liberation Commission, also known as the Mandate, which serves as the church’s constitution.
For Bishop Thomas Aremu, his valedictory service will be held at the Living Faith Church, Basorun, Ibadan, Oyo State on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, while that of Bishop David Abioye’s valedictory service takes place in Durumi, Abuja, on Friday, October 18, 2024.
Bishop David Abioye will go down as the first ti encounter Bishop David Oyedepo in 1979, and has been an integral part of the ministry since its early days.
He was a pioneer pastor of the ministry, taking charge of one of the first five branches established in 1987.
Indeed, Abioye’s consecration took place in 1993 at the Garden of Faith, Barnawa, Kaduna, making him the youngest bishop in the history of a full-fledged church at the age of 32.
Also, Bishop Thomas Aremu, a professional accountant, joined the ministry and played an important role in the church’s development.
He has been faithful and loyal, qualities which earned his long service making him the only bishop remaining among seven bishops consecrated in November 1999 at the Garden of Faith.
The valedictory services represent the first time that Living Faith Church will celebrate the retirement of its pastors.
While other bishops retire at 60, now reduced to 58 years, the Founder, Bishop David Oyedepo, however, retains the privilege of lifelong service. Future bishops of the church will be limited to one or two seven-year terms, subject to approval by the Board of Trustees.
