Atiku’s camp dismisses threat from proposed Obi-Kwankwaso alliance

The camp of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has brushed aside the notion that a potential alliance between Labour Party’s Peter Obi and NNPP’s Rabiu Kwankwaso poses any danger to his political relevance.

Atiku’s spokesperson, Paul Ibe, stated the former Vice President is unperturbed by the discussions, emphasizing Atiku’s focus on his own political path.

“There is absolutely no threat; there cannot be any threat,” Ibe said.

Ibe explained that Atiku acknowledges the right of political figures to form alliances and make choices, without viewing such moves as direct competition.

“Everybody is at liberty to chart their political journey. Atiku is quietly on his own, doing what he has to do,” he added.

Reiterating that Atiku harbors no anxiety over new political alignments, Ibe said, “Atiku is not in any way threatened; he does not feel threatened and will not be threatened by the prospect of anybody.”

According to Ibe, Atiku’s primary concern is the nation’s future. He stated that the party is open to welcoming those who recognize Nigeria faces an “existential threat” and need for redemption. “For Atiku, the more the merrier,” Ibe concluded.
