APC presidential screening committee disqualifies 10, clears 13 for primaries
Ten presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have been disqualified by the John Odigie-Oyegun screening committee.
Consequently, 13 presidential aspirants are left to slug it out in the APC presidential primaries slated for next week to pick the party’s flagbearer.
Chairman of the Committee, Odigie-Oyegun, disclosed this on Friday.
He said only 13 out of the 23 aspirants screened were cleared by the committee.
However, Odigie-Oyegun declined to disclose the names of either those qualified or disqualified.
He added that contrary to rumours making the rounds, it didn’t screen former president Goodluck Jonathan.
The committee held the screening exercise between Monday and Tuesday this week.
Cleared aspirants are expected to contest the presidential primary at a scheduled special convention in Abuja between June 6 and 8.
