APC Confirms LG Elections in Lagos for 2025
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has announced that local council elections will be conducted next year across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
In a statement on Sunday, the APC Chairman in Lagos State, Cornelius Ojelabi, addressed speculations regarding the status of the LCDAs and confirmed their inclusion in the elections.
He said: “The Local Government elections will hold across the state in the 20 Local Government Councils and the 37 Local Council Development Areas in the year 2025.”
Ojelabi highlighted the significant role of the LCDAs in grassroots development, noting their contributions to infrastructure, education, health facilities, and collaborative efforts with the state government on refuse disposal, drainage clearing, and security.
The APC urged stakeholders to dismiss any doubts about the elections and avoid unnecessary political tensions.
