Amended Telecoms Regulatory Instruments: NCC calls for stakeholders’ comments

The Nigerian Communications Commission,NCC, has said it would welcome written submissions from industry stakeholders on the updated draft regulatory instruments, and participate in the Public Inquiries scheduled to hold in Abuja.

A statement signed by the NCC Director of Public Affairs, Reuben Muoka, said commission, in exercise of its functions under the Nigerian Communications Act 2003 (the Act), had published the following draft regulatory instruments on its corporate Website at www.ncc.gov.ng, for stakeholders’ comments.

Indeed, ConsumerConnect reports that Mr. Muoka, in a recent public notice, listed the new draft regulation to include the following:

. Telecommunications Networks Interconnection Regulations (as amended)

. Guidelines on Procedure for Granting Approval to Disconnect Telecommunications Operators (as amended)

. Guidelines on Dispute Resolution (as amended).

Also, the NCC stated that in accordance with Section 57 of the Act, it had scheduled Public Inquiries in respect of the above-mentioned draft regulatory instruments to hold at 11.00a.m. on the dates stated in the table below:

According to the Director, any interested stakeholders, by virtue of this notice, “are invited to make written submissions on the subject and participate in the Public Inquiries.”

It added that the Public Inquiries would hold in the Conference Room of the Nigerian Communications Commissions Head Office, Maitama District, Abuja, FCT, pointing out that all submissions must reach the Commission on or before Friday, May 10, 2024, and should be addressed to:
