Ahmed Musa throws away Captain’s armband after Super Eagles barren draw with Cameroon

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, expressed his disgust after the Super Eagles ended the second tie of their international friendly game on Tuesda in a barren draw.

Musa in anger threw the armband on the pitch after the match. The Cameroonian had defeated Nigeria earlier on Friday in their match played at Vienna.

Musa threw down the arm with 10 minutes left at the Stadion Wiener Neustadt.

Gernot Rohr decided to replace Musa with Anaya Iwuala.

Musa took off the armband and instead of handing it over to Abdullahi Shehu who was two feet away, threw it on the field and jogged off.

Nigeria headed into the encounter on the back of their 1-0 defeat to the Indomitable Lions and in an effort to avoid a second consecutive loss, Gernot Rohr named a strong squad for the encounter.
Indeed, Cristiano Ronaldo had similarly threw down the Caption’s armband in match involving his country, Portugal, and the armband was sold $75,000.

Rohr’s men play Mexico next in another international friendly on July 4.

The games have been put together as part of their preparation for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde Islands in August and September, respectively.
