Afenifere abolishes Ayo Adebanjo's Acting Leader position

The pan-Yoruba socio-cultural and political organization has abrogated the position of Acting Leader held by Chief Ayo Adebanjo, just as it also erased the position of Deputy Acting Leader.

Afenifere took the decision at the monthly meeting of the group held at the residence of its Leader, Reuben Fasoranti in Akure.

A motion was moved to this effect by a retired Prof of Surgery, Samuel Ibikunle and seconded, following the recommendation of Afenifere elders’ forum.

Afenifere spokesperson, Jare Ajayi, who addressed journalists at the end of the meeting, said the step was taken to ensure unity, address polarisation and remove confusion.
