AFCON: Nigeria beat Cameroon 2-0 to face Angola in quarter finals

Nigeria defeated Cameroon 2-0 to book the quarter finals in the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON.

Ademola Lookman gave Nigeria the lead nine minutes before the break, with Nigeria having a better part of the activities in the fursthalf.

Lookman again guided in late second after Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali forced off injured in the second half.

Nigeria qualified second in Group A with victories over Ivory Coast & Guinea-Bissau.

Cameroon narrowly progressed from Group C with a stoppage-time winner against Gambia in their final game.

Nigeria will face Angola in the quarter-finals.

Nigeria have won seven of their last nine matches at the Afcon finals, their only defeat being a 1-0 loss against Tunisia at this stage in 2021.
