Abia native doctor on the run after inflicting machete injuries on two children

A native doctor in Ania, Akanu,in Abia State, is on the run after inflicting mathete injuries on two childen, including his step-sister over death of his sheep.
The native doctor, identified as Emea Ibe, from Ohafia Local Government Area of the state, was said to have perpetrated this action on Friday on Ota Awa, 10, and his step-sister, Kosisochukwu, for being responsible for the death of his sheep.
A community source told newsmen that the native doctor took to his heels after tge condemnation of the incident by the community.
The native doctor reportedly accused Awa of beating his sheep to death, an allegation refuted by the boy’s family.
Rather than allow the kid to explain himself, Ibe was said to have tied and dragged the accused to his shrine, where he dealt him machete blows in an effort to ‘squeeze’ the truth out of his mouth.
He added that when his sister, Kosisochukwu pleaded with the native doctor to spare her brother’s life, she also grabbed her and beat her with the same machete, declaring that nothing would happen even if he killed them.
The victims’ father, said to be a stroke patient, and their mother, afflicted by asthma, were helpless and could not rescue their children from the native doctor.
The traditional ruler of Akanu, Ezieogo Mba Okereke, who condemned the incident, said he had directed other native doctors in the community to fish out their fugitive colleague for prosecution.
The monarch promised that the matter would not be swept under the
carpets as he is prepared to protect the rights of abused children.
Also, youths of the community have vowed to nab the fleeing native doctor and bring him to justice for bringing their name into disrepute.
