Abducted Imo top monarch found dead, with mutilated body
A tragedy has occurred as abducted traditional ruler of Otulu Amumara autonomous community in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze Joe-Benz Ochulor, is found dead with multilated body.
The traditional ruler, whose dead body was found less than 24 hours after his abduction, had one of his legs severed off his body.
An indigene of the area, who pleaded anonymity, indicated that the late monarch was discovered along the Chokoneze-Mbutu Road in Aboh Mbaise local government area of the state, without one of his legs.
Eze Ochulo, who until his death was the Olu 1 of Otulu-Amumara, was abducted from his palace by gunmen on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
The attackers invaded the traditional ruler’s palace, shooting sporadically.
This gunshots scared the villagers away as they scampered to safety.
Until the discovery of the monarch’s dead body, the Ochulo family had waited in vain for a call from his abductors.
The entire Mbaise communities have been thrown into mourning as residents have become apprehensive and fearful about their safety.
