Celestial Church of Christ Unveils Plans for 40th Remembrance of Founder, Prophet Oshoffa
The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) has announced a detailed schedule of events to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the passing of its founder, Prophet SBJ Oshoffa.
The program was unveiled at a world press conference held at the church’s International Headquarters in Ketu, Lagos, by church officials. Assistant Most Superior Evangelist Abayomi Ilori stated that the celebration is to “appreciate and recognise the grace of God on humanity” through the life of Prophet Oshoffa, who was born in 1909, founded the church in 1947, and died in 1985.
The Head of Media, Kayode Ajala, outlined the extensive schedule of events, which includes spiritual, cultural, and sporting activities:
· Tuesday, September 2: The commencement with a World Press Conference.
· Tuesday, September 10: A memorial service at the International Headquarters in Ketu, Lagos, followed by a novelty football match against the Remo Stars FC at their stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.
· Wednesday, September 11: A stage play titled “Bilewu” at the MUSON Centre, featuring Nollywood stars who are church members.
· Friday, September 12: A leadership summit, youth discourse, and colloquium at the CCC National Headquarters in Makoko, Yaba. Distinguished children of the founder will speak about his family life, with the General Overseer, Rev. Pastor EMF Oshoffa, in attendance.
· Saturday, September 13: A one-day revival at the National Stadium, Surulere.
· Sunday, September 14: A Thanksgiving service at the International Headquarters, followed by a grand reception in Oregun, Lagos.
The celebrations will then move to Imeko, Ogun State—the birthplace of Prophet Oshoffa—in October for additional events, including a choral competition and a world service at the CCC Basilica.
