President Tinubu Concludes Japan Visit, Embarks on State Visit to Brazil

Following his participation in the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Japan, President Bola Tinubu has departed for a state visit to Brazil.

The visit, scheduled to begin on Sunday, marks the second leg of his two-nation tour.

After a stopover in Los Angeles, the President will proceed to Brasília to meet with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and other senior officials.

The agenda for the Brazilian leg is set to reinforce bilateral relations, with a focus on trade, security, agriculture, energy transition, and cultural exchange.

His visit to Brazil aims to strengthen ties with Latin America’s largest economy.

Plans include meetings on issues of shared interest like agriculture and security, as well as an interaction with Nigerians living in Brazil.

In Japan, President Tinubu used the platform to promote Nigeria’s economic reforms and attract Japanese investment in key sectors like infrastructure and technology.

The President’s time in Japan included leading Nigeria’s delegation at the TICAD9 summit, holding high-level bilateral talks, and engaging with the Nigerian diaspora to encourage investment.

He also engaged with the Nigerian diaspora in Yokohama, commending their contributions and encouraging investment back home. A similar meeting with the Nigerian community in Brazil is planned.

The Presidency confirmed Tinubu will return to Nigeria after completing his engagements in Brazil.
