Tinubu Vows Equitable Development All Regions in Nigeria, Highlights Key Achievements
President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring balanced development across all regions of Nigeria, leaving no area behind.
The President disclosed this on Tuesday in Kaduna during a two-day government-citizen engagement forum organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation.
Tinubu, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, emphasized that data from ministerial engagements would demonstrate that the North has not been neglected.
He outlined major accomplishments under his Renewed Hope Agenda, including economic reforms, education, healthcare, security, infrastructure, and food security initiatives. Tinubu noted that his government has taken bold steps to stabilize the economy, such as unifying exchange rates and restructuring debt.
On security, the President highlighted investments in modern equipment and personnel training. Key infrastructure projects like the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, Kano-Maradi and Port Harcourt-Maiduguri rail lines, and housing schemes were also mentioned.
Tinubu stressed that his administration’s priorities include economic reforms for sustainable growth, enhancing national security, boosting agriculture, unlocking energy potential, and improving transportation infrastructure.
Addressing fuel subsidy removal, he acknowledged its challenges but described it as a necessary reform that saved trillions of naira. He added that palliative measures, support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and public transport upgrades are helping to cushion the effects on citizens.
