President Tinubu Visits Dantata Family in Kano, Pays Tribute to Late Philanthropist

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Kano State on Friday to commiserate with the family of the late elder statesman and renowned philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.

The President’s aircraft landed at the Aminu Kano International Airport around 3:30 pm, where he was welcomed by Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and other top government officials. Senate President Godswill Akpabio was among the dignitaries who accompanied Tinubu on the visit.

During his stay, the President is expected to meet with the Dantata family to offer his condolences and express solidarity with the people and government of Kano over the passing of the esteemed businessman.

Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a revered industrialist and philanthropist, passed away on June 28, 2025, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. At the time, President Tinubu, who was abroad, delegated a high-level team led by Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru to represent Nigeria at the burial rites in Saudi Arabia as a mark of respect for the late icon.
