Cleric urges Christians to be ready to submit to God’s will

…As church marks 20th anniversary

Pastor Alex Ogundipe of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Daki-Biyu District, Kubwa, Abuja, on Sunday, urged Christian faithful to be ready to submit to God’s will in order to be successful in the race.

Ogundipe, who is the senior pastor of the church, made the call during the 20th Anniversary of the church.

He said the many lost God’s mercy due to their failure to abide by divine directive.

Citing the story of Jonah, the clergyman said: “Jonah was sent by God to preach in Nineveh, but instead of obeying, he fled to Tarshish, and the mercy of God left him.”

According to him, until we completely comply with His directive and align with Him, nothing is going to work, citing Jonah 2:8.

The senior pastor, therefore, urged Christians to submit to God’s will just as Isaac submitted to Abraham, his father, at the region of Moriah to offer him as a burnt offering, as a test of his faith.

“You must go to Moriah, like Isaac, before getting to your Rehoboth, a place of rest and fruitfulness that Isaac found after leaving Moriah,” he said.

He advised Christians to be ready to present themselves to Jesus Christ, obey his words and develop themselves in the word of God.

Ogundipe said the core mandate of the church is to evangelise, hence, the name, “Centre for Deliverance Through Evangelism.”

Pastor Bisi Olanrewaju, while delivering the sermon titled: “My Life: His Tabernacle,” said Christians must be ready to renew their lives and develop in Christ.

He gave ways in which one’s life can become God’s tabernacle.

“You life can be God’s tabernacle if you are born again, if you read the scripture daily, if you have your devotion daily and if you consult people that are older than you in the Christian race,” he said.

Major highlights of the event were the cutting of the 20th anniversary cake, thanksgiving offerings, presentation of gifts, singing and dancing in celebration of God’s faithfulness.

The church came about by a divine call and anointing  on July 10, 2005.
