President Tinubu Appoints Yazid Danfulani as NAIC MD

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Yazid Danfulani as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC).
The appointment, confirmed in a letter issued by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, on May 22, aligns with the NAIC Act, granting Danfulani an initial four-year term.
In his new role, Danfulani is tasked with enhancing insurance coverage for Nigeria’s agricultural sector, protecting farmers against risks such as natural disasters, diseases, pests, and drought.
He is also expected to develop a robust insurance framework and expand access to agricultural insurance nationwide.
Danfulani brings a wealth of experience as an administrator and former banker. He holds a Master’s degree in Arts and Management from the University of Hertfordshire, UK, and has previously worked at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Additionally, he served as Zamfara State’s Commissioner for Commerce and Industry.
His appointment underscores the administration’s commitment to strengthening agricultural risk management and supporting Nigerian farmers.
