JAMB Admits Errors in 2025 UTME Results, Orders Retake for Affected Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has acknowledged discrepancies in the results of some candidates who took the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).
Following widespread complaints from candidates who reported unusually low scores despite their strong academic records, the board began a review of the results on Tuesday in collaboration with stakeholders.
On Wednesday, JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, addressed the findings, apologizing for the errors and taking full responsibility.
He announced that candidates from 157 out of 882 examination centers would be given a chance to retake the test, with the rescheduled exams starting on Friday, 16 May 2025.
“I sincerely appeal to the affected candidates to accept this explanation as the genuine situation without distortion. I offer my apologies and assume full accountability, not just in words,” Oloyede stated.
He further assured that all impacted candidates would be contacted promptly to facilitate their participation in the retake.
