President Bola Tinubu has commissioned many landmark projects to mark his historic visit to Anambra State.
President Tinubu said, “Today’s visit fulfills a promise I made during my campaign. I recall telling you then,” that “Charles Soludo, your son, is my friend. I salute his brilliance, his vision, and his determination. When I become president, we will work together to bring prosperity to Anambra.”

According to the President, “What I see today confirms that a solid foundation is being laid, and Anambra is truly on the rise. Governor Soludo and I have been allies since 2003, and together, we are committed to building a better Anambra and a greater Nigeria.

“Moments ago, I commissioned two landmark projects—the Solution Fun City and the Government House Mini-City—key milestones in Anambra’s bold vision to become the African-Dubai-Taiwan-Silicon Valley (ADTS).

“These, alongside massive infrastructural upgrades and human capital investments, demonstrate what visionary leadership can achieve in record time.”

Tinubu, who recalled that decades ago, Dubai was a desert, today, it is a global powerhouse because leaders dared to dream, said similarly, when Soludo consolidated Nigeria’s banking sector, skeptics doubted—but he succeeded.

“When we reclaimed land from the Atlantic in Lagos, naysayers said it was impossible—yet we triumphed. Anambra’s potential is limitless, and with Soludo at the helm, we will accelerate this transformation,” he further explained.

He said, “I commend the Anambra State Government for its strides in improving security,” adding that the Federal Government remains committed to partnering with the Southeast to safeguard our people and their future.

President Tinubu said he had carefully noted the challenges facing Anambra and the requests for federal collaboration, including: Declaring a state of emergency to address gully erosion threatening communities and annual flooding in eight LGAs, Harnessing Anambra’s vast gas reserves, currently overlooked in the national masterplan, for power plants and industrial growth, Reviving abandoned federal roads, including the Anambra-Kogi link—a potential gateway between Abuja and the Southeast/South-South, Operationalizing the port (commissioned in 1982) by dredging the Niger to enable cargo movement from Onne Port—a game-changer for the region, addressing Anambra’s exclusion from the national rail masterplan, and urgent attention to federal roads, noting that Anambra has spent ₦150 billion on federal projects in three years.

President Tinubu assured that, “We will work closely with Anambra to deliver on these priorities.

He said under the Renewed Hope Agenda, Nigeria is growing stronger daily. “We inherited a near-bankrupt economy, unsustainable subsidies, and a chaotic forex system—but we have taken bold steps to stabilize the nation. Petroleum and forex subsidies are now history; macroeconomic stability is returning; tax reforms are underway.

“These measures, though tough, are vital for a prosperous future. Already, investor confidence is rising, with expanding opportunities in tech, manufacturing, and agriculture—sectors where Anambra excels,” he said.

He explained that to cushion the impact of reforms, “we enacted a new minimum wage, applauding Anambra for not only implementing it but paying above the national benchmark.

“We are accelerating infrastructure development—roads, rail, and power—ensuring no part of Nigeria, including Anambra, is left behind. The Presidential Power Initiative and digital economy drive will further empower this enterprising state,” he said, urging all Nigerians to be patience and united as “our nation’s greatness demands collective effort. We have no other home but Nigeria; let us make it the pride of the black race.”

He expressed deepest gratitude to the government and people of Anambra for the warmth profoundly honored by the chieftaincy title conferred on him by all traditional rulers of Anambra—a historic gesture he will forever cherish.

“Today, your collective recognition cements my bond with Anambra. I am no longer just a friend; I am now your son! Perhaps Governor Soludo can even secure me a plot for my retirement home post-service,” he said.
