Kano Gov Dismisses Corruption Allegations, Labels Accuser ‘Mentally Unstable’
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has rejected corruption allegations leveled against his administration and NNPP leader Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso by former Secretary to the State Government Abdullahi Baffa Bichi.
During a meeting with 484 NNPP councillors at the Government House, Yusuf dismissed Bichi’s claims as “baseless and unfounded,” describing him as “mentally unstable” and urging the public to disregard his statements.
The governor specifically denied allegations that his government is more corrupt than the previous administration under Abdullahi Ganduje. He also refuted claims that N2 billion is set aside monthly for Kwankwaso, questioning why Bichi did not raise such issues while in office.
Yusuf defended Kwankwaso’s integrity, stating that the former governor served the state and nation with distinction and was even urged to seek a second term. He vowed that his administration and party would continue to follow Kwankwaso’s political direction, praising his leadership.
Expressing concern over misinformation, Yusuf warned media outlets against allowing insults toward leaders, threatening regulatory action if necessary.
