DSS Arrests British Army Major, Associates for Alleged Arms Supply to Criminals in Delta

The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended a Major serving in the British Army, of Itsekiri origin, for allegedly supplying weapons to criminals in Delta State at the instigation of an individual identified as Collins.

In a covert operation in Asaba, the Delta State capital, DSS operatives recovered a significant cache of arms, including 50 AK-47 rifles, six pump-action shotguns, and over 3,000 rounds of ammunition.

Sources within the DSS revealed that the prime suspect, a high-ranking officer in the British Army, was intercepted at a Lagos airport while attempting to board a flight to the United Kingdom. His accomplices were arrested separately in Asaba.

Indications from DSS sources are that, “The suspect, an Itsekiri serving in the British military, is accused of sourcing weapons and ammunition on behalf of Collins to fuel unrest in Warri.

“During a clandestine operation near Asaba, DSS operatives arrested the arms supplier and his associates, confiscating a large arsenal. The British Major was later detained in Lagos while trying to leave the country.
“All suspects are currently in DSS custody, and a thorough investigation will be conducted to ensure those plotting tribal violence are held accountable.”

Authorities suspect the arms were acquired by groups opposing the recent delineation of wards and polling units in Warri Federal Constituency.

A prominent traditional ruler is also under discreet investigation in connection with the case.
