Ex-Queen of Ooni, Naomi Silekunola, Remanded Over School Stampede Incident
Naomi Silekunola, the former queen of the Ooni of Ile Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has been remanded at Agodi Correctional Center following her alleged involvement in a stampede at Islamic High School in the Bashorun area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi issued the remand order after Silekunola, the school principal Abdullahi Fasasi, and Agidigbo FM proprietor Oriyomi Hamzat were arraigned on a four-count charge brought by the police prosecutor.
The charges stem from alleged violations of Section 324 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.
The defendants appeared in court amid heavy security and will remain in custody pending advice from the state prosecutor.
