Police confirm rights lawyer, Farotimi’s arrest
Police have confirmed the arrest of human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi, over Afe Babalola’s alleged defamation petition
Earlier, Mr Farotimi had raised an alarm over planned arrest by the police on alleged Babalola’s petition despite honouring their invitation.
However, the police confirmed on Tuesday of Farotimi’s arrest over alleged defamation petition by Chief Afe Babalola, SAN.
Farotimi was arrested in Lagos on Tuesday morning and was promptly transported to Ekiti State.
Newstide247.com recalls a statement online by Farotimi that he was being sought by the police on a warrant from Babalola, or from Mr. Elumelu.
The police apparently did not act on Elumelu’s petition, but that of Babalola, as Farotimi was arrested by the police.
