Alleged homosexuality: RCCG suspends indicted youth ministers, orders investigation

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has suspended its indicted youth ministers “indefinitely” over allegations bordering on homosexuality.

The church has also ordered investigation into the allegations, calling on anyone with evidence on the matter to give same to aid the church in arriving at the truth and justice.

A letter dated October 29, 2024, signed by the RCCG National Overseer, Pastor Sunday Akande, disclosed this, asking anyone with tangible evidence on the matter to address same to the Special Assistant to the General Overseer (Administration),

According to Pastor Akande, “We encourage anyone with relevant evidence that could assist in our investigation to come forward,” noting that “we will only consider substantiated evidence directly related to this case; other submissions will not be reviewed.”

The letter, however, reaffirmed that, “RCCG is founded on the principles of Holiness; a commitment we uphold in our teachings and practices. We are dedicated to transparency and will not tolerate any actions that contradict our core value, nor cover up sinful actions.”

The letter stated that the accused youth ministers have been suspended indefinitely from all responsibilities in the church, assuring that the investigation is to be handled with care and integrity it requires.

The church stressed that anyone with evidence should come forward as “your cooperation will reinforce our commitment to justice and ensure a thorough resolution” of the matter.
