The Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC, and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, CIBN, are collaborating with aim of enhancing settlement and communication services.

Indeed, Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the NCC, recently hosted a high-level delegation from the CIBN, towards the realisation of this process.

The meeting marked a key moment in the ongoing partnership between the telecommunications and banking sectors.

The visit also underscored the strong relationship between the NCC and CIBN, and it also emphasized the need for collaboration on crucial issues such as interbank settlements and enhancing communication support services.

The engagement between the NCC and CIBN no doubt aligns with Dr. Maida’s vision of fostering synergy between critical sectors of the economy to drive innovation and efficiency.

Consequently, by focusing on interbank settlements, the collaboration will improve the speed and reliability of financial transactions across the country, while also enhancing the overall banking experience.

The discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening communication infrastructure to support the evolving needs of the banking industry, including digitalization and how tech-driven solutions can become integral to financial services.
