Breaking: Dino Melaye suspended from PDP
The maverich politician, Dino Melaye, has been suspended by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State.
Melaye, a former senator and governorship candidate in the 2023 gubernatorial contest in the state, was suspended by the Ayetoro Gbede, Ward 1 Executive Committee after he disregarded a summon.
He was suspended for allegedly misbehaving and participating in anti-party activities, and also embarrassed and damaged the party’s reputation.
After their meeting on Friday, the Ward executive committee announced the decision based on a review of the findings of the disciplinary committee constituted to look into Melaye’s actions.
The resolution, signed by Ward Chairman, Abayomi Osamika and Secretary Yodson Dayo, said Melaye’s continuing membership in the party is untenable.
According to him; “The suspension is in line with provisions of Article 59 (1) of the PDP constitution which empowers the Ward party excos to take disciplinary actions against erring members.”
