The 50 people killed on Sunday in a fuel tanker truck explosion have been given mass burial in Niger State.

The charred bodies and remains were recovered and buried.
The accident occurred following a collision by the truck carrying fuel with another vehicle, according to the state’s disaster management agency.
The Niger State Emergency Management Agency confimed that the fuel truck collided with a truck carrying travellers and cattle, as several other vehicles also caught fire.
The agency’s spokesperson Hussaini Ibrahim put the death toll at 48 and officials were still trying to clear the scene of the incident.
