Serie A: Conte regretful over Victor Osimhen’s situation
Napoli boss, Antonio Conte has is regretful over the club’s failure to sell Victor Osimhen this summer.
Conte, who apparently has no place for Osimhen, has given his number nine shirt to newly signed Romelu Lukaku.
Conte spoke after Lukaku came off the bench to score one of the goals in 2-1 Napoli win against Parma.
Osimhen’s transfer bid to Chelsea and Al Alil football club of Saudi Arabia failed to sail through before the close of transfer windiw at the weekend.
The failure to meet the deadline was attributed to Napoli’s extraordinary demands.
However, as the situation stands today with Lukaku in the picture, it would be difficult for the Super Eagles striker to get relevant play time under Conte.
Conte was quoted by Fabrizio Romano, the transfer guru, “I’m happy with the work the club did on the market.
“If there had been the sale of Victor Osimhen, we would have completed the situation… but I’m happy”.
